I am deeply honored to serve as Assistant Secretary at the Administration for Children and Families (ACF).
I come to Washington D.C. from Idaho, where my wife, Jen, and I are raising our six-year-old daughter, Emerson. If you haven’t been to Idaho, think jagged mountains, alpine lakes, winding rivers, and open skies. And yes, blue turf and potatoes. Idaho is hard to leave behind, but I feel called to this work. The Children's Bureau conducts the Child and Family Services Reviews (CFSR), which are periodic reviews of state child welfare systems. Statewide data indicators are used in the CFSR process to evaluate state performance on safety and permanency outcomes.
AFCARS Dashboard
New public Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS) Dashboard with state-by-state child welfare performance data. The AFCARS collects case-level information on all children served by the foster care system and those who have been adopted with title IV-E agency involvement.
Child Welfare Technology Incubator
ACF is strengthening support for states as they modernize Child Welfare Technology and Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS), with a simple goal: build systems that improve safety, permanency, and well-being for children and families across America.
