Title IV-E Prevention Program Program Description
The Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA), enacted as part of Public Law (P.L.) 115—123, authorized new optional title IV-E funding for time-limited prevention services for mental health, substance abuse, and in-home parent skill-based programs for children or youth who are candidates for foster care, pregnant or parenting youth in foster care, and the parents or kin caregivers of those children and youth.
A Message from the Assistant Secretary
The Children’s Bureau is pleased to announce the availability of this new online resource designed to support states in the development and implementation of Title IV-E Prevention Plans. This platform includes an interactive map and a comprehensive library of approved prevention plans, providing direct access to services that have already undergone federal review.
Our goal is simple: states should not have to reinvent what already works. If a prevention service has already cleared federal review in one state, another state should be able to take that language, adopt it, and move forward without delay. Replication is a strength and helps us expand access to prevention services more quickly and efficiently. Read more.
Title IV-E Prevention Program Five-Year Plans
Title IV-E agencies that elect to provide the Title IV-E Prevention Program must submit a five-year plan to the Children’s Bureau for review and approval (ACF-ACYF-CB-PI-24-10).
