The Children’s Bureau’s capacity-building services provide leadership and direction in the areas of training, technical assistance, evidence building, and information dissemination. Technical assistance can support child welfare agencies in meeting federal requirements, participating in federal monitoring and related program improvement activities, implementing national child welfare policies and programs, and investing in the staffing necessary to successfully respond to and improve safety, permanency, and well-being outcomes for children and families. The Children's Bureau supports these efforts by funding cooperative agreements and contracts.
The Children's Bureau has established national capacity-building centers, quality improvement centers, and national training initiatives that can assist these agencies and organizations as they work to improve outcomes for children and families and measure their results. Capacity-building services are offered through universal resources, targeted services, tailored services, and training.
