Dear Colleague:
The Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 Preliminary Data Report is now available along with the Excel file of data tables for your convenience. The data represents a preliminary assessment of the program’s progress toward meeting goals and objectives and is provided as a resource for the child support community.
The report includes data from all state child support programs on collections, expenditures, paternities, orders established, and other program statistics. This preliminary report does not include tribal program data, which will be in the FY 2021 Annual Report to Congress.
Here are national data highlights from the FY 2021 preliminary report:
- $29.5 billion in total IV-D collections was distributed
- $28.1 billion, or 95% of distributed collections went directly to families
- 13.2 million children were served by the program
- 88% of cases in the caseload had orders established
- 67% of current support due was collected
- 69% of cases with arrears had collections
- 100% was the IV-D PEP rate
- 90% was the statewide PEP rate
- $5.27 was the cost-effectiveness rate
The information in this report does not consider the 2021 data reliability audits.
State officials should carefully review the data to ensure that it agrees with your timely submissions to OCSE. Please contact your regional office with any concerns.
