Sending Wire Payments to Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Switzerland
IM-18-10
INFORMATION MEMORANDUM
IM-18-10
DATE: August 28, 2018
TO: State IV-D Agencies
SUBJECT: Sending Wire Payments to Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Switzerland
Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Switzerland have advised the United States that they can no longer accept checks for payment of child support. We are working on a long-term solution to this issue, but to ensure that payments reach families in these countries, OCSE recommends that states arrange to send wire payments (also known as SWIFT payments) to the bank accounts for the Central Authorities of these countries.
How to make payments
Each country has provided bank account information for their Central Authority. State SDUs should wire all payments for that country to the identified bank account.
- Banking Information — Austria
- Banking Information — Czech Republic
- Banking Information — Slovakia
- Banking Information — Switzerland
Case data
We recommend that states verify that the wire transmittal form used by their state bank contains sufficient space to provide the case information required by the receiving Central Authority. If there is insufficient room on the wire transfer to send the data, please refer to the banking information from the Central Authority for instructions on sending the case data.
INQUIRIES: If you have questions or need assistance with arranging for wire payments, please email ocseinternational@acf.hhs.gov.
