A Tribal Early Learning Initiative (TELI) is a partnership between American Indian and Alaska Native communities and ACF designed to:

  • Better coordinate tribal early learning and development programs, including child care, Head Start, preschool, home visiting, and other services
  • Create and support seamless, high-quality early childhood systems
  • Raise the quality of services to children and families across the prenatal-to-kindergarten-entry continuum
  • Identify and break down barriers to collaboration and systems improvement

TELI offers Tribes the opportunity to develop coordinated early childhood services and systems in their communities. To read the latest on the TELI, including current opportunities to join the TELI Collaborative or TELI Network, visit the About TELI tab.

ECD launches a new cohort of the Tribal Early Learning Initiative Collaborative

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Early Childhood Development (ECD), has launched a new cohort of the Tribal Early Learning Initiative (TELI) Collaborative. TELI supports tribal communities in strengthening early childhood systems through improved coordination across programs serving young children and families. This new cohort also includes an emphasis on promoting healthy development by supporting access to nutritious and culturally relevant foods in early childhood, community, and home settings.

ACF is honored to partner with the participating tribal communities in this 4th cohort: Riverside-San Bernardino County Indian Health, Inc., Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, Cocopah Indian Tribe, and the Seneca Nation of Indians.
