The purpose of this Information Memorandum (IM) is to outline the flexibilities for Tribal MIECHV grant recipients related to participation in MIECHV-funded research and evaluation activities. This IM identifies opportunities and activities that constitute participation and clarifies allowable uses of grant funds for these purposes.

Use of Federal Early Childhood Program Funds to Improve Access to Housing-Related Supports for the Early Childhood Workforce in Tribal Communities (PDF — 195.97 KB)

This Information Memorandum (IM) provides an overview and guidance to Tribal CCDF lead agencies, American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) Head Start award recipients, and Tribal MIECHV recipients regarding how CCDF, Head Start, and Tribal MIECHV funds can be used to address challenges recruiting and retaining an effective Tribal early childhood workforce serving Tribal communities where access to affordable housing is limited. This IM does not reflect a change in ACF’s interpretation for how CCDF, Head Start, and Tribal MIECHV funds can be used, it clarifies allowable uses of funds to support costs related to increasing the availability of affordable, accessible housing for the early childhood workforce serving Tribal communities.

Opportunities for the Tribal Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program to Promote the Mental Health and Well-being of Children, Families, and the Tribal MIECHV Workforce (PDF — 576.61 KB)

The purpose of this Information Memorandum (IM) is to provide recommendations to Tribal MIECHV grant recipients about key strategies for promoting the mental health and wellbeing of children, families, and the Tribal MIECHV workforce. The Tribal MIECHV Notices of Funding Opportunity indicate that grant recipients must support the mental health of children and families, including through the provision of infant and early childhood mental health consultation. This IM identifies specific and actionable activities that recipients can undertake to support mental health and clarifies allowable uses of grant funds for these purposes.
