New Proposed Rule To Improve Child Care Access, Affordability, and Stability in the CCDF Program

July 13, 2023

The Office of Child Care (OCC), Administration for Children and Families (ACF), announced a new proposed rule to help more families access the child care they need and to better support child care providers in the essential work they do for communities across the country. Among the changes in the proposed rule are policies to lower costs for families; increase families’ child care options; strengthen payment practices; encourage easier and faster enrollment; and clarify program policies for lead agencies, families, and providers.
