Dear OCS Tribal Partners and Colleagues,

As we approach Indigenous Peoples’ Day 2024 observed on October 14, 2024, the Office of Community Services (OCS) is proud to take this opportunity to celebrate and recognize Indigenous cultures and histories. On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor the myriad contributions Indigenous people have made across our Nation and renew our commitment to respect tribal sovereignty and self-determination.

Today, OCS also celebrates the work of our tribal grant recipients and all they have done to strengthen OCS programs and services. To that end, we are sharing a variety of spotlight videos that highlight the impact of OCS programs — Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), and the Rural Community Development (RCD) program — in Indigenous communities. View the following videos to learn more about the impact of these programs in Indigenous communities:

OCS reaffirms our commitment to Indigenous communities and partners. Our goal is to foster a collaborative environment that uplifts Indigenous perspectives and strengthens the services provided to Indigenous communities.

OCS appreciates the contribution of tribal elders, tribal leaders, Indigenous communities, partners, and grant recipients who have shared their stories about the success of OCS programs within their communities.

Thank you for your attention to these matters. OCS looks forward to continuing to provide high-quality services to all OCS partners.
