LIHEAP Crisis Assistance

Any time you lose heating or cooling can be a serious situation, especially for older adults, young children, and persons with disabilities. If the circumstances put you or your family’s health and safety at risk, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) may be able to offer crisis assistance to restore services.

CSBG & LIHEAP Disaster Response in Arkansas

Explore how the Arkansas Departments of Humans Services (DHS) and Energy and Environment (AEO) work with Community Action Agencies, like the Central Arkansas Development Council, to combine funds from the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) and the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) to provide critical aid to residents affected by natural disasters, such as tornadoes. CSBG and LIHEAP work together to offer immediate relief and long-term support, ensuring that individuals and families have the resources they need to recover and rebuild.
