In this session at the 2016 CED Grantee Conference, a panel of three experts experts in the area of healthy food--Donna Leuchten-Nuccio, Director, Healthy Food Access, The Reinvestment Fund; Bill McKinney, Director of Research and Evaluation, The Food Trust; and Sara Padilla, Project Manager, Farmers Market Coalition--discuss the impact of healthy food projects on the overall physical, social, and economic health of their communities. While it is still difficult to demonstrate direct impacts of healthy food projects on communities, this session discusses strategies and opportunities for moving beyond increasing healthy food access in low-income communities to demonstrating impacts and outcomes.
