Social Services Block Grant (SSBG)

The Social Services Block Grant (SSBG) - A flexible funding source that allows states and territories to tailor social service programming to their population’s needs.

The purpose of SSBG is to support social services directed towards achieving economic self-sufficiency; preventing or remedying neglect, abuse, or the exploitation of children and adults; preventing or reducing inappropriate institutionalization; and securing referrals for institutional care, where appropriate.
