David Swegle
Director, Office of Family Assistance
David Swegle serves as director of the Office of Family Assistance (OFA), which administers the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and the Healthy Marriage and Responsible Fatherhood programs and related initiatives in partnership with states, tribes and territories.
Swegle brings federal expertise supporting policies that promote work, marriage and self-sufficiency, and has worked closely with state-administered public assistance programs. He previously served in the United States Senate working on family policy.
Originally from Illinois, David holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Hillsdale College, in Hillsdale, Michigan.
