Repaying Your Loan

Current as of:

Temporary assistance is provided in the form of a loan repayable to the U.S. government.

This is separate from any loan taken out while in a foreign country with the U.S. Department of State ahead of your arrival to the United States.

Once your participation in the Program is over, your case is closed and you will receive a bill for temporary assistance received.

Submitting Payments

HHS’ Program Support Center (PSC) will bill you approximately one month after your case is closed. The bill will include repayment instructions, including repayment plans and remittance address.

For questions about your debt, email PSCDebtServicing@psc.hhs.gov or call 301-492-4664.

If you have questions about a loan taken out with the U.S. Department of State, please contact the U.S. embassy or consulate of the country you were repatriated from.
