The ACF Data Community of Practice (CoP) is led by the OPRE’s Office of the Chief Data Officer (OCDO) and supported by the ACF Data Governance Consulting & Support and Extension contracts. The ACF Data CoP is a dynamic forum for ACF staff to share best practices, identify common challenges, and collaborate on innovative solutions related to data. The CoP hosts virtual meetings each month and facilitates asynchronous collaboration on Microsoft Teams, providing a platform that empowers ACF staff to overcome data challenges and enhance their data skills. The CoP also contributes to the implementation of ACF's plan to make agency data accessible and develop statistical evidence to inform policymaking.
The ACF Data CoP provides opportunities to:
- Learn from diverse ACF program offices: Share challenges and successes and generate and apply data insights and best practices.
- Build expertise: Access resources such as data guidance, policies, tools, technologies, and training materials to strengthen both individual and organizational data capacity.
- Collaborate effectively: Form connections, facilitate new partnerships, and collaborate with peers on data topics via the internal ACF Microsoft Teams platform.
- Solve data-related problems: Gain access to subject matter experts who can help to identify, analyze, and solve data problems.
- Stay informed: Attend monthly CoP meetings and access a comprehensive resource hub containing valuable information on data topics and CoP meeting materials.
- Drive innovation: Feature and learn from the innovations and experiences of ACF staff who are working to overcome data challenges.
- Contribute to the ACF Data Strategy: Participate in initiatives that align with the ACF Data Strategy, including the Data Talent Center, to support the agency's mission and deliver better results for the American people.
- Foster a culture of data-centric decision-making: Embrace evidence-based policymaking by developing statistical evidence from accessible agency data.
- Enhance data literacy: Participate in workshops, webinars, and training sessions to improve personal and organizational data literacy.
- Access collaborative learning tools: Utilize collaborative learning tools and platforms to share knowledge and build a stronger data community within ACF.
