Diaper Distribution Demonstration and Research Pilot (DDDRP) Evaluation

2023-2028

Diapers are an essential resource, especially for families with young children, yet unmet diaper need is a widespread material hardship. Addressing diaper need has potential implications for a wide range of outcomes related to child, caregiver, family, and community well-being. To help address diaper need and increase economic security, the Office of Community Services (OCS), in partnership with the Office of Planning, Evaluation, and Research (OPRE), recently launched the Diaper Distribution Demonstration and Research Pilot (DDDRP) (PDF).

The DDDRP provides new funding to expand existing diaper distribution services through a network of community partners that provide anti-poverty services. OPRE launched the DDDRP Evaluation project to inform the administration of this new program and lay the groundwork for a future impact evaluation. The project will address this overall purpose by designing, conducting, and disseminating results from an implementation study focused on the DDDRP grants.

Additional activities under this contract may include developing options for research study designs to evaluate program impacts; conducting additional data collection and analysis related to program implementation or outcomes; and/or conducting supplemental research on related topics of interest to the Government.

This contract was awarded to Westat with a sub-contract to Public Profit.
