Introduction

This report describes the major research investments of OPRE’s Division of Family Strengthening (DFS) through Fiscal Year 2022.  This division has primary responsibility for research and evaluation projects related to strengthening relationships, supporting fatherhood, nurturing children through their families, reducing teen pregnancy, supporting positive youth development, and preventing family violence.

This report describes research in these areas sponsored by OPRE during Fiscal Year 2022, organized into five different sections that show the breadth of DFS’ family strengthening research.  These sections include:

  • Supporting Fatherhood
  • Strengthening Relationships
  • Nurturing Children Through Families
  • Supporting Positive Youth Development and Transitions to Adulthood
  • Cross-Cutting Projects

The report also outlines highlights from projects in Fiscal Year 2022, describes rapid learning methodologies and their applications across DFS projects, and explains DFS’s efforts to make evaluations rigorous and relevant through active engagement.

The point of contacts are Maria Woolverton and Shirley Adelstein.
