Long-Term Foster Care (LTFC)

There are four types of LTFC programs: 

  1. Basic foster care: children live in a licensed foster home. 
  2. Therapeutic foster care: children live in a licensed foster home and providers specialize in serving children who need heightened behavioral and/or mental health support.  
  3. Basic group home: children live in a group home supervised by a house parent(s) and/or staff. 
  4. Therapeutic group home:  children live in a group home supervised by a house parent(s) and/or staff, and providers specialize in serving children who need heightened behavioral and/or mental health support. 

Provider Responsibilities

LTFC provides a safe and structured environment where children can receive immediate care and support. While in care, children have access to the essential activities and services listed below.
