Under the refugee resettlement program, with the support of its network, ORR coordinates the resettlement and placement of refugees across the United States. After arriving in their destination states, ORR provides initial benefits and services to assist newcomers, including time-limited cash and medical assistance, as well as longer-term support services.

Unaccompanied Alien Children Bureau
ORR provides for the care and custody of unaccompanied alien children who enter the United States from other countries without an adult guardian. ORR is legally required to provide for their care until they are placed with a vetted sponsor, usually a parent or relative, while their immigration cases proceed.
