The Office of Refugee Resettlement’s Unaccompanied Alien Children’s (UAC) Bureau must not unlawfully discriminate based on race, color, national origin, disability, religion, age, or sex (including pregnancy and sexual orientation and/or identity) (collectively referred to here as “Characteristics”).

This guidance outlines documentation needed to prove an individual is eligible for ORR refugee resettlement programs and a suggested process for making eligibility determinations.

Documentation Requirements for the Refugee Resettlement Program

The ORR Unaccompanied Alien Children Bureau Policy Guide is a summary of ORR policies for the placement, release and care of unaccompanied children in ORR custody. The guide is for members of the public and other stakeholders and is organized into three main sections.
