The Office of Trafficking in Persons (OTIP) forges pathways to freedom for survivors and those at risk of human trafficking. The goal is to establish a national system that serves survivors of all forms of trafficking by empowering existing service systems, forming partnerships, and coordinating federal and local responses.
Joint Forced Labor Working Group
The Joint Forced Labor Working Group (JFLWG) is a public-private partnership led by the Office on Trafficking in Persons and Trinity Health, one of the largest not-for-profit, faith-based health care systems in the nation. The JFLWG develops tools and resources to assist the healthcare and public health (HPH) sector mitigate the risk of and remediate forced labor and related exploitation in their supply chains, including purchased goods and services.
National Advisory Committee on the Trafficking of Children and Youth in the United States (2024-2026)
The National Advisory Committee on the Trafficking of Children and Youth in the United States (NAC) advises on efforts to prevent child sex trafficking and labor trafficking. The committee is composed of experts, including individuals with lived experience, government officials, and professionals with specialized knowledge in child trafficking prevention and response. Through its guidance, the NAC supports both national and local initiatives aimed at preventing and addressing child trafficking.
National Advisory Committee on the Sex Trafficking of Children & Youth in the United States (2018-2022)
OTIP, in consultation with the Department of Justice and the National Governors Association, supported the work of the National Advisory Committee on the Sex Trafficking of Children and Youth in the U.S. This committee advised the Attorney General and the HHS Secretary on the nation’s response to trafficking.
Voices of Freedom
Voices of Freedom is an ongoing archive of nearly 100 recorded conversations featuring the reflections of survivors of human trafficking and allied professional in the anti-trafficking field. The initiative is a collaboration with the Administration for Native Americans (ANA) and StoryCorps.
